“In the midst of happiness or despair, in sorrow or in joy, in pleasure or in pain: Do what is right and you will be at peace.” – Jess Rothenberg, The Catastrophic History of You and Me
In the evening of that same day, the first day of the week, the doors were closed in the room where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews. Jesus came and stood among them. He said to them, ‘Peace be with you,’ – John 20:19
What do each of you ask of Christmas?
That one special gift you hope for.
Is it Christmas dinner with your family?
Or a holiday away from home.
Some of us will face disappointments.
Others will enjoy and have a merry Christmas.
The lonely will pray to get through the holidays.
How do we bring Christmas to the homeless?
The world is a harsh place.
Life is filled with hardship,
And pockets of joy and happiness.
Remember that God walks with you.
Family is important, family is everything.
When one by one stop returning home,
Christmas can be brutally harsh.
Peace, hope, joy and love shatters.
What do I ask of this Christmas?
His peace to envelope my home.
To keep safe those not coming home.
That the candle of love burns strong.
Please continue to share with friends, for the World needs our prayers.
Peace be with you. Amen.
