The truth is an important ingredient.
A father doing his best to instill,
in his children what’s right and wrong.
To be truthful, honour to uphold.
How do peace and truth combine?
A truth not told, trust is broken.
If a promise is made on a lie,
it can disrupt peace, prompt a war.
A father’s voice long since silenced.
Yet his advise still echoes its truth.
Man cannot live a lie, he loses peace.
For one lie leads to another …and another.
Where it matters, the truth I tell.
But I do tell a white lie sometimes.
An old lady with the ugliest looking dog.
I agree her dog is the prettiest I’d seen.
A father’s teaching well learned.
If I decide to tell a lie, the fault is mine.
I can discern right from wrong.
If I choose to live a lie, I lose peace.
