How magical a night this was

The night sounds call to me.
A full moon adds romance.
To sit on the porch swing.
If only my love was here.

Yet, I enjoy this quiet night.
A spin of nursery rhymes.
As I look at the moon, I wonder.
Why did the cow jump over the moon?

I looked to the sky full of stars.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star.
A silver moon among the sparkles.
I saw it winked at me, it did.

Then I heard the crickets sing.
The quiet of night with melody.
As the fireflies flicker and flash.
Are you a lamp for faeries?

The bullfrogs joined in, singing.
Ribbit, ribbit, ribbit, was heard.
The night scented with Jasmine.
How magical a night this was.
