I want silence inside

The lights are dim.
Gloom in each room.
Father, vanquish I pray.
You are my shield.

Music of worship fills
each and every room.
Candles burn on the altar.
Silent prayers sent up.

Cleanse my mind.
Remove unclean thoughts.
Father, forgive I pray.
I allowed evil to walk in.

Mend my broken soul.
It cries for my body.
It sobs for my heart.
I want silence inside.

My soul is weary.
Or is it my heart?
Father, carry me I pray.
I don’t know the answer.
