“Anyone who welcomes one little child like this in my name welcomes me. But anyone who is the downfall of one of these little ones who have faith in me would be better drowned in the depths of the sea with a great millstone round his neck.” (Matt 18: 5-6)
I didn’t believe it was true.
I dismissed the rumours.
Yet, all along it was happening.
The Devil hiding in plain sight.
Of horrors done. Unseen!
Of horrors endured. Unseen!
What was hidden is exposed.
There will be accountability.
I don’t want to be merciful.
I’m finding it hard to forgive.
These were men of God.
But the child saw the Devil.
We are all fallible. We sin.
But there is an invisible line.
You just don’t ever cross this line.
The child must be protected. Always!
“Lord, when did we see you abused and did not come to help you? But he will reply: In truth I say to you, as often as you failed to do this to one of these the least of my brothers and sisters, you failed to do it to me.” (Matt 25: 44-45)
