Angels cushioned her fall

autumn

My heart almost stopped!
“Nanny jatuh”.
I heard the maid shout.
My mother had fallen.

Where are you hurt?
My first question.
Are you in pain?
My second question.

I lift her of the floor.
She’s no light weight.
Nothing broken.
Only bruised a little.

Took a while to calm her.
She thinks I am angry.
I am more resigned.
She didn’t ring the bell.

It’s breaks my heart.
To see her limitation.
Yet, I am resigned.
She didn’t ring the bell.

I thank the Lord.
For his angels at her side.
They cushioned her fall.
That I believe, they did.
