Banished

fantasy-2925250_960_7201Image by Stefan Keller

Once he had it all. Love over flowed. His home was filled with joy and laughter. If he listened hard, he heard echos of it.

He made one mistake. And was banished from his world. This world was of ice. A frozen wasteland, burning cold and desolate. He couldn’t remember how long he’d been on this winter planet.

But he remembered who banished him, his wife. The love of his life cast a spell in a moment of a jealous anger.

It was his fault. He strayed from love into the arms of lust. For those moments of stolen pleasure, he lost love forever.

Where is this place? The cold of death clutchess his heart. Yet, he cannot die. It is a living death. Each breath he takes he lives her pain and her sadness.

His heart calls out to hers. She cannot hear him for her heart is sheilded with blocks of ice. Her hurt too deep to forgive or forget.

The woman in her is broken. Her love shattered into millions of pieces. It is opposite of the witch in her. The witch cast her spell in a circle of cold fire.

He could feel her. In his heart he cries. Where have you banished me, my love? How long must I stay in this prison of frozen wasteland? He feels the burning cold.

In her anger she wanted him to feel her pain. Unless her heart melts, he is trapped forever in her world of ice.

I'm a Eurasian of Portuguese, English, Scottish and Malay heritage. And my extended family are of Chinese and Indian heritage. In recent years, the younger generation have added on to include spouses from the Philippines, Nigeria and Russia. My world is made up of different colours like the rainbow. And like the rainbow I am unique. Reading is my form of relaxation, to escape from the drudgery of daily life and enter into a world of the imagination. It is the love of reading that has led me to try my hand in writing short stories and poems. I hope that in some way my stories and poems will take you for a little while away from the drudgery of the present into the pages of imagination. To new friends found, I bid you, Welcome. Sincerely, C.E. Pereira

  1. Oh what jealousy will do! Such a sad tale, and yet one that is seen again and again.
I am glad to have found within me a love bigger than lust, bigger than jealousy.
I do hope for both their sakes that her heart melts. I wonder what the trigger to that could be…
Well written, thank you for sharing!
