Think brillant, talk stupid

Inside my mind I’m awesome.
Beautiful words flow out.
Then I open my mouth.
And I cannot get my foot out.

Has it happened to you?
One minute you’re thinking brillant.
Then you open your mouth.
And the next moment stupidity.

How is it possible to think one way.
And to verbalise in the opposite.
Good intentions going South.
A tongue not linked to the mind.

A sitcom, with me as the joke.
Only it’s not. It’s embarassing.
I’m in hot soup constantly.
Why did I say that? Oh no!
