To forgive, to forget

Is it easier to forgive?
Sometimes yes, at times no.
Is it easier to apologize?
Pride usually prevent us.

To have messed up.
Saying sorry wasn’t enough.
More like grovelling.
To get reminded so very often.

To forgive, yet not forget.
A trust never given again.
Hurt remains, hardly gone.
How do you forget?

To forgive, and keep apart.
Cutting off ties completely.
They don’t exist in your live.
Does this make you forget?

To be forgiven completely.
Yet not forgiving ones self.
To live with this regret.
The hurt one caused remains.
