Stop saying ‘boys will be boys’

The funeral of a murdered teenager.
A bullying episode ends in death.
A life snuffed out before its time.
Too painful to imagine his torture.

Like a pack of rabid animals.
The bullies surrounded him.
Bashing him with crash helmets.
They sodomised him and burnt his back.

‘Boys who are sensitive are weak’.
So they bullied him to get him to ‘man up’.
The savageness of this hate crime.
The aggressiveness is not normal.

When boys get into a fight,
we say ‘boys will be boys’.
This justifies violent behaviour.
Let’s stop saying ‘boys will be boys’.
