My Travel Timeline: 1980 – 1993

The year 1967 was memorable so to say. My first day at primary school. The death of my paternal grandmother. Christmas at my Aunt’s home in Teluk Anson. And my very first train ride to Teluk Anson (Teluk Anson is now known as Teluk Intan).

It was that first train ride, of having such an adventure, of seeing wonderful scenery  flash by …. I was hooked on travel; I was hooked on trains.

It would be years later that I got to travel, to pursue this love of mine.

This first piece (with lots more to follow) is about my travel timeline with photos of each city and town that I visited.

With time memories do fade as we age, and this is a way for me to document my travel timeline before I reach that stage.

I usually don’t like to have my face plastered all over a page but it looks like that’s not going to happen here.

So, come on and follow this younger me around Malaysia  during 1980 to 1993 in this first part of “My Timeline Travel”.

Enjoy this photo gallery.

I'm a Eurasian of Portuguese, English, Scottish and Malay heritage. And my extended family are of Chinese and Indian heritage. In recent years, the younger generation have added on to include spouses from the Philippines, Nigeria and Russia. My world is made up of different colours like the rainbow. And like the rainbow I am unique. Reading is my form of relaxation, to escape from the drudgery of daily life and enter into a world of the imagination. It is the love of reading that has led me to try my hand in writing short stories and poems. I hope that in some way my stories and poems will take you for a little while away from the drudgery of the present into the pages of imagination. To new friends found, I bid you, Welcome. Sincerely, C.E. Pereira

    1. I am actually having fun going through my albums. Laughing at some pictures. And looking at my younger self and thinking “Is that really me?”.
