Nov 30: Peace has a tough job ahead

peace-on-earth-2015

“The day the power of love overrules the love of power, the world will know peace.” – Mahatma Gandhi

Never worry about anything; but tell God all your desires of every kind in prayer and petition shot through with gratitude, and the peace of God which is beyond our understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7

Anger explodes; erupts
It cannot be reasoned
Consumed with hatred
It breeds more violence.

An impossible task to remain calm
Jeers and insults thrown at you
Not to react in anger or hate
Peace has a tough job ahead.

It’s so easy to preach about peace
When our homeland is at peace
But when terror reaches our shoreline
Are we still a peaceful people?

I too am ruled by anger frequently
And what happens to my loving nature?
Gone. Not a single peaceful thought remains
A struggle I lose more then I win.

Peace – to remain calm in total chaos
Not to react however angry we feel
Peace – kindness in spite of being hurt
A friend’s advice, kindness and love heals.

Please continue to share with friends, for the World needs our prayers.
Peace be with you. Amen.

I'm a Eurasian of Portuguese, English, Scottish and Malay heritage. And my extended family are of Chinese and Indian heritage. In recent years, the younger generation have added on to include spouses from the Philippines, Nigeria and Russia. My world is made up of different colours like the rainbow. And like the rainbow I am unique. Reading is my form of relaxation, to escape from the drudgery of daily life and enter into a world of the imagination. It is the love of reading that has led me to try my hand in writing short stories and poems. I hope that in some way my stories and poems will take you for a little while away from the drudgery of the present into the pages of imagination. To new friends found, I bid you, Welcome. Sincerely, C.E. Pereira
