Evil will not win

Subtle persecution; evil is cunning.
In sheep clothing they hide.
Look for their shifty eyes, a telltale.
Their agenda is to discredit.

The rug is pulled from under a faithful.
Unknowingly evil was invited inside.
In the name of God they deceive.
How does the faithful unmask these evils?

The face of evil could be anyone.
Evil could look as cute as a baby.
A smiling face could be a mask.
So many to unmask, evil is cunning.

Evil uses Apps to infiltrate chats.
The faithful is poisoned unknowingly.
Will quitting the Apps make them a target?
Or is the grip of evil too strong?

Fear clutches the heart, it is terrified.
Who will believe, these are church goers.
Feeling like a coward the faithful keeps quiet.
Evil knows it, subtle persecution continues.

Toying with souls!  wanting souls!
Haunting darkness, the faithful afraid.
But evil will not win! Hold on to faith!
If God is for us, who can be against us?

By C.E. Pereira

I'm a Eurasian of Portuguese, English, Scottish and Malay heritage. And my extended family are of Chinese and Indian heritage. In recent years, the younger generation have added on to include spouses from the Philippines, Nigeria and Russia. My world is made up of different colours like the rainbow. And like the rainbow I am unique. Reading is my form of relaxation, to escape from the drudgery of daily life and enter into a world of the imagination. It is the love of reading that has led me to try my hand in writing short stories and poems. I hope that in some way my stories and poems will take you for a little while away from the drudgery of the present into the pages of imagination. To new friends found, I bid you, Welcome. Sincerely, C.E. Pereira
