Darkness to Light

autumn

The soul is tired.
Energy level at low.
Limbs heavy, dragged down.
A mist, God in the shadows.

A dark overcast hangs,
this gloom I’m unable to shake.
Devoid of happy thoughts,
A fog, God in the shadows.

A cloud dark and heavy.
Fueled by anger.
Allowing evil to enter.
The soul left vulnerable.

The body needs food,
it dies without food.
So too does the soul,
it dies without God.

Keep alert, the body is weak.
Temptation is everywhere.
Prayer is talking to God.
Light enters, the soul shines.

Don’t be distracted.
Thoughts can stray.
In silence listen to God.
Light enters, the soul sings.
