An Island

An island stands alone.
Water, water around it.
Standing tall and aloof.
I see the solitude.

Unreachable it seems.
An amour of solid wall.
I feel the  quietness.
An island, a solitude

I search for solitude.
Away from every demand.
For a while peace.
The storm kept at bay.

Even in the bustle,
I shut out the world.
Nerves frayed, weary.
An island, silence.

People demanding, shouting.
Left pulling, right pulling.
A need to rest.
An island, a refuge.
