The day the fairies and pixies danced

mushrooms-pixies-fairies-460pixils

autumn

Sprouted overnight under a full moon,
A magical wonder to see this morning,
Did fairies and pixies dance all night,
And paint the garden with mushrooms so big.

I looked out my window and see,
Mushrooms here, there, everywhere,
Of music I hear in my head,
Fading away as the sun rises.

Where did the music disappear to,
I couldn’t have imagine it, could I?
Mushrooms which weren’t there yesterday,
Full bloom, with magic dust sprinkled.

I’d like to think they danced and played,
Fairies and pixies on a moonlit night,
The only memory of their visit,
Mushrooms, left behind in my garden.
